This time of year we tend to spend more time indoors. Now is also a great time to remember to test and repair or replace any deffective safety devices in your home,
....Smoke Detectors,
....Ground Fault Circuit Interupters,
....Arc Fault Circuit Interupters
Each of the devices listed above has a test button on the device.
If the smoke detector doesn't sound off
or
The GFCI doesn't trip and/or reset
or
The AFCI doesn't trip and/or reset
You probably need to call an electrician.
Manufacturers instructions usually tell you to test them monthly.
This would be a good time to check those Holiday extention cords for damage too.
